After a lot of thought and for a variety of reasons, I'll be homeschooling Rigel for 1st grade this year. I never thought I'd be doing this, but I'm really excited about spending this time teaching and learning with my little boy. I've purchased curriculum for the year, but I'll have to wait to start before I know whether it really works. For now though, for the 2013/2014 year we plan on using:
Language Arts:
All about Reading 2
All About Spelling 1 & 2
IEW PAL Writing
Math: Singapore...not sure whether we'll end up starting on level 1A or 1B as Rigel is working his way through a 1A book now and doing well
Miquon to mix things up some and have more hands on/exploratory math
Science:
REAL Science Odyssey with additional library books
Nature Study: The Nature Connection
History:
SOTW Ancients
Other:
Evan Moore Geography Grade 2
Some kind of Logic work
The Nature Connection
PE:
Soccer and Gymnastics in the Fall
Skiing in the Winter
Music: Unsure, maybe classes at the public school
Art: Maybe classes at the public school
